Lets explore the following additional functions available and there features.
The
additional functions available in the More Options feature, is a
standard Power BI menu, some of the functions will only apply to either a
Powerview Report or visual such as a Dashboard.
Drill Through
This feature is used to drill down or up to
explore data in more detail. This
involves navigating through hierarchical data by selecting different levels of
granularity. Use the drill icons (single
downward and up arrow for one level, double arrow for all levels).
To access the drill through options, simply hover
over the visual.
Methods for Drilling Down:
Using Drill Icons:
Enable Drill Mode: Locate the
drill-down icon (a single downward arrow) on the visual and select it. The icon
will change to a darker colour when drill mode is active.
Drill Down: Click on a data point
within the visual. This will reveal the next level of detail in the hierarchy.
For example, if you're viewing sales by region, you can drill down to view
sales by state within a specific region.
Drill Up: To move back up to a higher
level of detail, use the drill-up icon (an upward arrow).
Drill Down All Levels: If you have
multiple levels in your hierarchy, you can use the double downward arrow to
expand all levels at once.
Export Data
This
feature will allow you to download the data from the visual or data
table as a CSV file, which you can then open in Excel or another
application.
Open a report or dashboard and
simply hover over the data table or visual you want to export, then
click the ellipsis (...) icon that appears in the upper right corner,
and select "Export data" from the menu that appears; this will allow you
to download the underlying data of the visual as a CSV file.
Show as a Table
This feature is used to show the data used create a visualisation for example a Dashboard.
Open
a report and select a visual. To show the data underlying the visual,
select More options (...) and choose Show as a table. By default, the
data appears below the visual.
Spotlight
This
feature allows you to highlight a specific visual on a Dashboard, which
causes all other visuals on the page to fade to near transparency.
Simply
open a report or dashboard, select the visual you want to highlight,
click the "More options" (three dots) dropdown menu, and then choose
"Spotlight"; this will make the selected visual stand out by dimming all
other visuals on the page.
Get Insights
This feature is not active in the Powerview
Reports or Dashboards.
